For clarity, let me define the term as I understand it and am using it.

I don't need a Dictionary.com definition.
Asylum is for those of protected classes, the United States chooses what the protected classes are and acts accordingly. Mass gang violence, which does target both people of specific areas, professions, and lineages, could very easily be couched into one of the protected classes or made into a protected class, the United States has chosen not to do so.

you know what the solution is? if you want asylum in the US or you wanna come here illegally, we should just take a big ass piece of land that no one uses and designate it for non citizens. let them build the fukk out of it and make it a thriving community, if it's really just about the land. the issue is immigrants competing with poor people who are already here in established communities, not people coming to the US. open the fukkin doors of this country and funnel people into montana or kansas or wherever the fukk. it would be hard to impossible, for anti immigrant hardliners to take issue with that
