of course i knew it was problematic. this is dumb ass snoop of all people so of course the execution was going to be terrible. let them deflect away, i'm good with it

because he still sparked a huge conversation. some real talk was had based on his smoke... as horrible and juvenile as it was. figures he'd apologize, who cares. sistas i know, friends of mine, who hate my views on black feminism and womanism being akin to white supremacy..... are like whoa i think old boy and them nikkas who cosign him might be right

later this year we will be treated to the Gloria Steinem biopic entitled "The Glorias"starring julianne moore as gloria, janelle monae as dorothy pittman hughes, and lorraine touissant (orange is the new black) as florynce kennedy. it's already touched sundance. they will push this HARD on all the shea butter outlets at black women yall watch. let's see how sistas react to the nonsense then. snoop actually did something positive in my eyes by way of being a moron. having folks look at black feminists and liberals through a critical lens

Again, I understand the context behind Snoops comment but he went too far. He needed to apologize. You guys wouldn't want Snoop saying that about your mother or any friend or relative. It's not what you say always, it's how you say it.

With that said, it did bring about a conversation about perception, the media and the soundbyte news cycle, as well as an eye on Black feminism and feminism in general.

In retrospect, he did the right thing by apologizing and admitting he was wrong for his comments, there was no reason to verbally insult nor allude to violence against Gayle :yeshrug:.

Yes, I understood his frustration cause what Gayle said was wrong indeed but at the same time, there were better ways to handle this issue. Another thing is that...Kobe isn't here to speak for himself but if he was, would he had wanted Snoop to respond in that manner on his behalf?

Kobe was at a stage in his life where he was invested in being a positive role model in little girls and young women's lives in which they would look up to him. I think ppl aren't putting into consideration that this isn't the way Kobe would've handled this situation nor do I believe he would want this.

Ppl are too busy looking for things they can use to back up their own personal agendas.

:snoop: he said nothing worth apologizing for
What he did gave Oprah and Gayle a way to get out of this situation...I wish he didn’t do it, he could’ve gave her that ether without giving them and feminist something to grasp on to get out of it smfh. Bill Bellamy did it best.

The whole “I spoke with my mama” thing is corny to me.

I know y’all talk about how black women are attacking black men at a high rate these days but there’s no discussing the fact that these same women will have sons someday. Everyone loves mama, right?

The world is going to be very different 20-30 years from now. This is just the prequel

Where the fukk is Vanessa and families apology Gayle

And this is the key point in all of this, this bytch hasn’t apologised and merely stated things were shown out of context by her network. Her and Oprah need to learn and this mammy like behaviour needs to end and Black women need to know there is repercussions to that kind of behaviour.

Thats the thing, I was lucky enough to meet Snoop at a few stages in his career and he's bright dude, he is capable of the nuance.
