You have to understand that Detox was announced shortly after Chronic 2001 and the Slim Shady LP did so well. The OG Detox was supposed to have most of the production and features that made 2001 so successful but that time period came and went and those nikkas moved on. Then there was more material during the whole G-Unit/Shady/Aftermath era, some of the beats ended up on Game's album and a few others. That would have been the perfect time to drop the album, which was already a couple years past due and people would have felt it was the worth the wait. Buuuuuuuut he let it slip through his fingers. I bet he fukking regrets that shyt now and probably doesn't even want to drop it after that golden window of opportunity closed. Add a bunch of teaser singles that don't get the "perfect" response he's looking for and you just got the Chinese Democracy of rap albums. If he was smart he'd throw together 15 modern tracks and release it with all of the other material for over a decade of recordings. No matter how good or bad the main 15 tracks are, people would go crazy over the release of potentially classic material and collabs we'll never see again.
