This is not news. No matter the hate NY get's, It's always the mecca and every Region in Hip Hop by default was heavily influenced by The mecca.

But I give the West Props. They made some smooth ass music and had some crazy smooth flows especially Snoop.

True, but Snoop seems to be very neutral when it comes to Coastal Bias. Yes he's Westside for Life but he did sign with Master P and was messing with Bad Boy at the height of the East/West Beef. I do think it's cool that he's admitted at the end the day even though they were way out there on the West, they were always paying attention to New York. I understand why when NY fell off commercially everyone ponced on the hate cause New York had the crown for the longest time in Hip Hop History.

this chick is a horrible interviewer. she basically asked the same question 10 times in a row.

I know right, there's nothing wrong with being a Fan but she came off more like a groupie than someone doing an interview. But she was looking right though. LOL @ Snoop blazing, can this guy ever stop smoking for a second. LOL. Everytime I come across anyone famous even If I'm a huge fan I always act calm and cool. Artist really don't like that "Stanning" fan stuff. It makes them uncomfortable in public.

Snoop like any REAL DUDE is just a fan of good MUSIC regardless the region

He also is a people person...he loves interacting with people of diverse backgrounds. .....

And as far as NYC i think he ACCOMPLISHED that task considering DEEP COVER with Dre was highly respected on the east

Hell i remember the CHRONIC lp being played from beginning to end one evening on WKCR in NYC with Stretch and
Bobbito

All jokes aside, NY is the mecca and was the standard for hip hop especially lyrical excellence

Just because cats put on for their region doesn't mean they weren't influenced by the Ny classics, it's not shocking

Yep "Deep Cover" was a very hard record. Got a lot of love in East, even Pun and Joe remade it:

And they ended surpassing NYC by a mile, happens all the time in history

Really? Does the West Coast have more CLASSIC rap albums than New York? Maybe there can be an argument that musically they did make advances as Dr. Dre is an iconic Producer as well as DJ Quick but NY still pound for pound has the most Classic Rap albums. But yes just by the fact it started there they obviously had a head start.
