Nah 1m streams = $3k-ish so he either in the dark, gettin fleeced or his revenue gettin split up with the white man

OBVIOUSLY THE LABEL
GETS THE BULK OF THE SHARE.

THAT STREAM REVENUE DOESNT GO
STRAIGHT TO THE ARTIST.

THEYRE STILL GETTING THE SAME
CUT THEY GOT ON THEIR RECORD CONTRACT.

IDK WHAT THE RATES ARE
BUT I HEARD IT WAS A FEW CENTS PER PLAY.

I DO KNOW SONGS GET PAY BONUSES
IF THEY GET 95K PLAYS
IN A QUARTER AND THE MORE PLAYS
THE HIGHER THE BONUS
ON TOP OF WHAT THEY WOULD
NORMALLY RECIEVE.

Ok right on

That’s just sad. Makes me respect Ice cube more for peeping game early. Straight out Compton was an eye opener.

Artists need to start creating sites and selling their music directly. Because I keep trying to tell people. Streaming isn’t real. That isn’t sales. The main people who get money from these deals are the label and the streaming service. There’s no way streaming can equal a sale when u get unlimited access to music for the price of one album. lol.
I don't think that's necessarily the problem. Unless they plan on pulling all their streams and hunting down anyone who plays their shyt like Prince did, the streaming isn't gonna go away.

I don't think anyone's gonna pay a monthly service just to listen to their favorite rapper

We thought record labels would be obsolete in the 21st century after being exposed so many times. They figured out another way to keep monopoly in the music business. Y'all ever wonder why spotify were welcomed so easily in the music business? How all of a sudden in 2014-15 all the record labels had music in streaming platform? They probably were already in bed together.

the lowest payout rate for streaming services is like $5000 per million plays. The issue isn’t the streaming pay but what’s Snoops cut of that pay? The streaming service pays his label and/or publishers but from there Snoop gotta get paid from them. And if he’s got a fukked up publishing deal that’s why he’s getting $45k off 1 billion streams

I think it's great Snoop did this.

Facts are important.

Alot of rappers fronting like they have 3m in cash but don't are gonna have to deal with this truth. If Snoop only profits that off streams with millions of followers, these other rappers aren't popping like that.

This is streams though, hot artist still get paid heavily for shows

He got less than that for selling 5m records in 93 :yeshrug:

How does Daz show big quarterly checks and Snoop can’t
