I get what he’s saying, but there are plenty of qualified black therapists who would’ve handled it well, even if they knew who he was. And I’d encourage black folks going to therapy to seek out black therapists. There are just certain things about the mental trauma black folks face that they’ll be able to understand on a deeper level than white therapists
