Employers aren't even legally supposed to look at that information when they are viewing your application, so they have to use other ways to guess if you are black

....its attached to the application.....Human Resources is going to see it...and more than likely "negligently" pass it on to the people look for employees...

i agree, it's not a great idea as far as ones mental health goes, just imagine if you stop checking "black" and begin to receive more callbacks etc, you might get the job but you'll also "know" why you didn't before and it'll affect your psyche negatively.
