:comeon:

How many average people know and sing along to an LL Cool J song?

And I'm talking about 'Mama Said Knock You Out', 'Hey Lover', 'I'm Doing It', etc?

I mustve glossed over the 'word for word' portion of the criteria.:yeshrug:

Still Dre and Next Episode coming up on 20 years as well.

so what?

nobody ever cared about the lyrics to those songs at any point. not even when those songs were out.

He really isnt...

that’s my GOAT:blessed:

how?

you must mean, hes your favorite rapper.

not saying he's the greatest but he should get more credit for being like the nelly of the 90s

I don't see the nelly comparison. you gotta explain that one.

and keep in mind, ive never seen nelly on anyone's all-time list.

There are grandparents in their 50s ... Those songs drops around mid 90s... that means they would’ve been 25-30 when those songs dropped ... of course they’re feeling those songs nicca :gucci:... that was their prime.

ehh

if we're going by people who base their liking of music off of the prime of their lives, most people's glory days are in that 12-23 area.

You reaching .I love LL but his music does not span generations like you talking. Maybe mama said knock you out but that's it. Young people are not citing LL lyrics word for word

maybe not the word-for-word part, but his music certainly has.

maybe not 4 generations, but definitely 3.

If you don't think Dear Mama is in that category then you don't know what you're talking about And there's others

its not.

Ehhh debatable man... most folks would say the “prime of their lives” age range starts at 23 (I’d argue 24-25) going into the 30s... with the prime peak hitting at early 30s (that’s for “regular” people) ... like a 10 year stretch where youre equipped the best to either make the world your oyster or make it real tough on yourself going into the middle aged stage ...

But prime music listening age where you remember everything musically and music was literally the soundtrack to life is probably 15-21 (I think 23 is going a tad too far).

@daboywonder2002

I don’t think any songs from that list make the cut ... maybe Summertime ... still feel like the cutoff for that is like 23-24.

Have your dad been treating you like Josef Fritzl did with his kids since the 80s or what :mjlol:

You can’t find me many tracks from the 90s with 350 million and 500 million views on YouTube.

apparently, that's not what this thread is about. its about people knowing the lyrics. I glossed over that part of the criteria when I entered the thread myself.

also, "still dre" wasn't a party record. maybe on the west coast it was.

but to respond to your comment, I remember "still dre" not being that popular. yea, they were TRL, but the bruhvas weren't on it like that. so if you add a song of that nature, then youre opening up pandoras box. we'll be talking about c&c music factory or somebody by the end of the next page.

thought this was gonna be one of the songs mentioned in the OP.

off top, trying to think of other contenders. :jbhmm:

Hammer - Can't Touch This, 2 Legit 2 To Quit

Naughty By Nature - Hip Hop Hooray, OPP

Biggie - Mo Money, Mo Problems, One More Chance?

TS needs to define generational ages tho? young teen = 13, parent = 28, grand parent = 53?

IT WAS ALL A DREAM!!

How you mis out juicy yo?
