And again, LeBron didn’t “sacrifice” his 10 point streak, he had 4 quarters and 17 shots to score 10 points. He just didn’t get it done.
He didn’t sacrifice anything he played bad last night. Let The haters tell it he only cares about those 10 points and not winning which if that was the case he could’ve taken the last shot and tried for his 10 points because at the very least he gets to OT and has another 5 minutes to get the 10 points. But he made the right pass and the team got the win.

lol I’m bout to yap but shyt is crazy, nikkaz can’t even enjoy the win shyt is so toxic. Breh made the right play he ain’t need to shoot that shot. Other than it being a fitting way to end a streak why is this being made into a big deal?

Honestly, I just wish Bron could go out with grace and we could all move on. Also, his stans in here looking wild rn. Yes he’s been acting weird and that’s been the case for awhile. Nowhere to be found at the funeral. At the statue commemoration. Why are Laker fans that have been here over 20 years obligated to show him love when he’s done things like that? Doing those two things alone would’ve gone a very long way. Had he spoken at the funeral from the heart I’m 100% willing to bet it wouldn’t be this toxic. Nothing was stopping him from doing that. No one would’ve accused him of being an attention seeker. On the contrary, for once it might’ve humanized him beyond the brand obsessed person that a lot of Laker fans don’t like.

But then I look at this from the perspective of a Black man. A teenager was gassed up by scouts, CEOs, all kinds of people that saw an economic come up in this young man. Instead of actually having to go through the pain of the work, these opportunists wanted to get the best bang for their buck and laid his path with glittering gold. I’m not that much younger than Bron, so in a way I kinda feel for him cuz he was coming from a rough situation and imo a lot of the extras ended up steering his path in this direction. How he gon know any better when he being handed millions and he from a single parent home? What discernment was there to realize that all this gold before the hustle and before truly proving yourself by every metric might end up being bad in the long term? He didn’t have what Kobe had in the way of an NBA parent and mentors close by. He had perspective that Bron didn’t, instead of taking the “He Got Game” role he played it humble and worked on his game cuz he knew he wasn’t there yet. We weren’t told to be witnesses, we just witnessed it naturally.

In the process, a totally toxic relationship has been created. Some fans veer into one extreme where they’ll admit no wrongdoing, another extreme where he’s damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t, a whole camp called Klutch that’s tone deaf to how he comes off, and a bunch of people in the middle that are mostly over it but might wish that they could’ve enjoyed this experience if not for practically being taught how to overly hate or love that nikka and the underlying agenda behind him. That young man has now grown into a 40+ year old man. Going out on some Brett Favre shyt where there’s still arguments instead of appreciation of things we’ve never seen done before. All because we don’t trust the motivation behind it. Is it for the game? Or for the legacy that has already been cemented as “not better than Jordan”? Why should that even matter other than that being the whole core of the brand itself?

Frankly, the whole “Embrace debate” era had us on this bullshyt instead of enjoying what Kobe and LeBron brought to the game. There’s a reason why that type of energy stayed on the block or at the barbershop. As Black folks, and even beyond the Black community, we’ve gotta reject this way of doing things moving forward. That way our future superstars don’t grow up to be tryhards and people can engage their careers and contributions in a more healthy and appreciative way.

Dayum, with no Bron and Luka, Smart as well, we might be cooked tonight.

Whose idea was it for us to play the Raptors in Toronto and then travel back to the US to play Boston on the road the next night :mjlol:?

:martin:

If they were gonna have us play a back-to-back, game 1 should've been in the US on the East Coast against the Knicks, Nets, or even the Sixers, so it would've made sense in terms of travel.

Back-to-backs are already tiring, but dayum, c'mon, leaving to go overseas, and rushing back to play the next night in Boston, gotta be exhausting :picard:.

It's an optics thing, mentally speaking for players to recoup and have enough time to gather themselves.

Not to mention, it depends on what time they left Toronto, could've left last night right after, or just arrived back in the US this morning, or a few hours before the shoot around.

It's not an optics thing though(1;30 is just that)- these guys have been in the league long enough- alll they ask when get on the flight is how long it's going to take- that determines if they play cards, sleep, watch a movie, etc..

When they left, that is determine by the trip coordinator. Weather permitting they like to leave right after the game so they can get some rest in a bed when on back to backs..
