Whether Melo stays or goes, I've got a problem with the lack of trade talks for Lee and KOQ. KOQ is a goner at the end of the season between his opt out clause and the fact that we have Willy, KP getting closer to Center size and Joakim Noah's impossible to move contract...get whatever value you can for that dude (and I say this as a big fan of his playstyle and development into last season). With Lee...we paid THJ more and we have a youth direction. If Melo's on the roster, Lee is an expensive sixth man who doesn't fit our timeline. If Melo is dealt and Lee is still around, he's an undersized starting SF at best. With Lee, I could see hanging on until the trade deadline, but with KOQ I think we shoulda been trying to strike pre-draft tbh.

Agreed.

However, the silver lining is they would probably fetch higher value closer to the trade deadline.

I could see contenders willing to give up some nice future picks and/or youth to get those superb glue guys.

Can't move them because you might need them in a Melo trade. If/when Melo moves then they can be moved

I think the hope is that Lee, KOQ, Frank and a First gets them Kyrie and they're just holding out on the Cavs to feel more pressure in the coming weeks. I bet they make moves by the deadline.
