over the top watches are only worth the value of the jewelry melted down.

Straight up Rolex has aesthetic value because it's classy and can be sold to any investment banker on wall street. Iced-out watches can't be sold to anyone that's not a rapper....you limit ya market.

So many rappers wear fake shyt and then accuse others of wearing fake shyt lol.

Maino said he robbed a platinum rapper back in the day, took the jewellery to some crooked jeweller and got like a couple thou for it. shyt was mad iced out..he was expecting $250k lol.

That articles talkin about shyt like 1942 rare ass shyt breh. Not some brand new rolex.

First sentence of the 2nd paragraph.... "To invest in watches, you either buy vintage, or you buy incredibly rare and special pieces"

Sit down, and stop trying to sound smart because you read an article on the internet.

This.

I thought it was common knowledge the expensive watch market is about rarity and intricate mechanisms.

This Patek was sold $5M a couple of years ago.

Id wear fake shyt too if i had dough like that... Aint nobody would question if its real :mjpls:

Yeah man lol. Most rappers who wear fake shyt have the problem of wanting to flex too hard and outshine everyone. If you're gonna fake you think you would go for some more understated shyt.

i think that "jewelry is an investment" is just a hood urban legend that has spiraled out of control. I got into an argument with my friend several months ago about this exact thing and he was getting mad as fukk at me when i said that those iced out chains depreciate in value. He was 100% that you can sell them back for more than you bought it for, i guess i should have known he was wrong when his broke ass was giving opinions about shyt he will never be able to afford.

It is.

Watches do appreciate in value, genuine timepieces that is, not flooded diamond rapper watches, even the ones with real diamonds in them.

Timepieces that are hand-made and contain 100's of hand-placed parts appreciate in value. Diamond watches don't. High end Audemars, Rolexs', Vacheron Constantins etc. do.

There's no second hand market for gaudy diamond Joe Rodeo or Jacob watches thus they decrease in value.

Rappers know they are going to get roasted. No matter what the reason that thing flew off... talking about 100k on his wrist all the time and that shyt don't want to be there.
