I agree with you but whenever something like this happens there is tremendous opportunity for those clever enough and determined enough - and if we're honest, unscrupulous enough - to seize it. Look at all those Russian oligarchs that came just years after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Times of great unrest generally upset the power structure and thus are the only way a layman can reach the top short of being a genius. By "the top" I don't mean a millionaire, I mean a Russell Buffet type of guy.

So yeah, I'm not looking just to endure but for an opportunity to grab for power as far above my station as I can, either here or somewhere else.
