ATL…overly
Its not a scam but its not marketing genius either. The over the top "all publicity is good publicity" grandstanding is not suited for companies that have already earned brand recognition and market share.

Its the reason a minor league team will have controversial promotions to get attention but a major league team would keep it vanilla. A major league team does not need the shameless plug and the primarily negative buzz that comes with it.

Lavar is the biggest con man going. But I will give him credit, his Bumbling Buffonery Business has at least generated interest based on his almost cartoonish persona. However, his lack of business savvy has cost him and his family millions for the sake of fukkery and hasn't gotten them a step closer to making the billion dollars Lavar demanded from one of the major shoe companies. BBB fanboys aside, he's running his business like a bad reality show, hopefully he realizes that and stops acting like an idiot out here and gets serious about running Bullshyt Basketball Brothers like a legit company

$495 for shoes and $995 for a "signature" edition of shoes for a new company of a player who's never played in the NBA is legitimate to you?
Yes. He giving someone a product & they can decide if they want it or not pay the price he set.
He's not telling them it gives them + inches to their vert like those APL shoes or are made in Italian craft shops.
$495 is pretty wild. But a signature does add usually around 200 to 400 on a Sports item.
If he never actually sends the items or messes up the shipping or the shoes look different from what he advertises he should be labelled a con man.
But he showed the customer the price & if the shoes get to the purchaser in a timely fashion & good condition I have no problem.
I don't even fck with Lavar like that but I don't really care about his business unless he blatantly steals from people or ripsoff people.
Which to my knowledge he hasn't done.

Exactly :mjlol:

Players run through sneakers its not like they wearing the same pair every game....they acting like the shoe gotta survive the whole season:mjlol:

Not to mention BBB could always partner with a Chinese that has cheese for R&D. They just want nikkas to think its Nike/Adidas/UA or bust...fukk that:camby:

Basically!

Complex gettin free swag and kickbacks from these companies, of course they don't want hypebeast to start fuccin with BBB that's fuccin up the money. shyt is so transparent

That doesn't make him any more of a conman than Gucci for selling even more expensive sneaker. If people are willing to pay for it, why can't he charge it?

What would make him a conman is if collected all this money and never actually shipped the product. Or if the product was ridiculously poor quality.

What A.P.L. Founders Adam and Ryan Goldston Were Doing at 25

Dudes said these bricks would add vert
While people jumped higher in Kobes than these bricks
But the NBA banned them anyway so they gained a lot of promotion
Now the Kardasians wear their shyt.
This much more fish oil than anything Lavar done
So I really don't see the scam artist talking point.
The Major shoe brands have done a lot of things like snake oil tactics & false advertising.
You can call him a fool & a troll but con artist is a little far.

Speaking to Footwear News at Jessica Alba’s JA x DL1961 denim line launch at Revolve Social Club in Los Angeles last week, the 29-year-old brothers recalled how the attention catapulted them to great success.

“At 25, Adam and I were selling men’s basketball shoes that got banned by the NBA, and we were planning our launch into retail with our men’s and women’s lines,” Ryan shared.
Now they have stuff in retail store.
After their Banned Stunt.
