Let me first state I'm ignorant to the whole gaming culture, so somebody with time/patience explain this whole donating for gaming thing.
it wont be unique to gaming soon. Youtube is adding a "tip jar" to people who post videos. Girls who post twerk videos boutta eat more than anyone on youtube soon... Basically virtual stripping with your clothes on
The League of Legends and World of Warcraft streamers make the most from donations outside of females. Literally hundreds of thousands a year from donations alone. Not counting viewer, youtube(which is a lot) or subscription money.
Someone like Sodapoppin, has like 3000 subscribers. He gets $2.50 per subscriber every month.
He said recently he makes around $300k a year from donations alone. All he does is play World of Warcraft all day

if you add up his youtube money, subscription money and viewer money hes probably easily clearing $500k a year(multiple years in a row).
People like him, Reckful, Swifty, etc have bought houses and lived their lives from playing video games. Reckful got around $100k fairly quick in donations (he was late to the streaming party but was youtube e-famous) and flipped it into a house + stocks. He bought I think like $20 or $40,000 worth of SolarCity stock when it was like $5-10 a stock ? or some shyt and now its a $66 a stock... so he pretty much retired from games for the most part.. He bought some other stock that profited as well but cant remember
One rich Saudi Arabian/Dubai kinda guy donated $40,000 to Sodapoppin alone and like $20,000 to Reckful

He donated over $200,000 to his favorite streamers like 2 years ago
dont get it confused, these are the exceptions.. not the rule..
