Most of the time they're not worth it. You don't even save that much. I'd rather pay a bit more and pick/choose the DLCs that I want to buy individually.

The only season pass I've ever paid for myself was the one for battlefield 4 when it was on sale for like $15 or something like that.

Catch 'em on sale or wait for GOTY editions. Some devs are quite good with it (Old Hunters/Blood & Wine etc) but the bigger publishing houses will extort you to the fullest.

Ubisoft is actually doing a fantastic job with the rainbow six siege season pass and I hope more companies follow what they are doing along with what Capcom is doing for Street Fighter V

Season pass are exactly what they are, extra content for a price. Whether it be extra maps, an hour or two of story, etc. There is no ripoff because you know exactly what you are paying for

I'd say the majority of the season passes are a rip off. You're paying for content you don't have access to right away in certain cases. Then if you do have access to that content, it ends up being something like the Harley Quinn and Red Hood joints.

Makes more sense to play through the main game, wait for the DLC to drop and then get feedback from people who have played it. For example I played through Witcher 3 and loved it enough to start a new game +. I plan on copping both expansions when I beat it again because everyone here says the 1st one is worth it.

Yes, DLC is a rip off in general. It cheapens the current game and the future sequel.


The witcher is the only game currently handling dlc correctly.


Why bother to put together a completely experience and then some when you can put together a pretty good one and then through in a season pass for 20-100 bucks that lets you get things on there time table when it could have easily been put into the game as a unlockable or some kind of hidden gem. Would if have took another 2 months to get a game that had the dlc in it? Maybe? But I'd wait two months even if its stuff I might never use.


Its a crutch and its so popular because its profitable and easy steady income.

Their was a time when videogames were released with full content with very little little minor glitches day one. DLC was released out of love for the fans.

Now a days companies know how sheepish consumers are and how much they don't respect the dollar so they release half of a non working game intentionally holding back content to milk the sheep for all they are worth.

The only season pass Ive ever bought is for driveclub,it was filled to the brim with content.

I actually really like how much effort eveolution hasnput into driveclub with expansions.
