So are we calling the 2020 Bucks title a fluke (right now)

Middleton going down was a huge blow and probably cost them. But you can’t be playing guys like Matthews and Allen 20+ mins giving you nothing and one guy(Allen) absolute food on defense. Also missing guys like Tucker and Divenczo who can actually defend and not have everyone scrambling out of position leaving shooters wide open was significant. It’s honestly commendable this team made it to a game 7 and that’s more on Boston

1 STAR THREAD

Giannis is the best player in the game today. That title run they had to play who was in front of them.

There is no shame in losing in Game 7 against one of the top teams in the conference without your 2nd best player.

The Bucks now need to find competent backup level wings and guards.

Giannis not pulling out his old trick of injuring players was big. I was sure he was going to “accidentally” undercut Tatum at some point.

naw, middleton was hurt

This.

Also i'm kinda getting sick of this era of basketball where all the stars going down with injuries and basically determining the outcome of these matchups. Everybody keeps getting hurt and it's making the playoffs suck.

I don't think so

But I find it HILARIOUS that the media keeps bringing up Khris Middleton being out of the series due to injury when they LITERALLY beat the Nets in the 2021 playoffs last year with an injured Kyrie and severly hobbled Harden

Hilarious hahahaha

Nah, these last 8 years or so we can make legit arguments that injuries absolutely swung titles

2015 - No Kyrie no K love. Lebron and a bunch of coli nikkas lose to the warriors

2016 - Dumb ass Dray got suspended, but iggy was hurt and steph was "hurt" in the playoffs. Cavs win title

2018 - Cp3 gets hurt in game 5 and Harden chokes like a dog. Warriors win title

2019 - KD got hurt again and klay got hurt. Raptors win title

2020 - bubble bubble lebron got a 4 month break

2021 - harden got hurr, greek injured kyrie. Kahwi ripped his knee up. Bucks win title

2022 - Middy got hurt, kyrie refused to get vax, embeed broke his face, Morant hurt. Warriors likely to win title

bruh shut the fukk up

injuries have been a thing in the nba finals since the 50s and 60s.

It wouldn't be an issue if they could combine both Matthew's and Allen's skills into one player as one deficiencies is another's strength. Donte DiVincenzo being there instead wouldn't have changed that as his shot had been ass all season after came back from injury. He would have essentially be no more effectively offensively than Matthews whose defense had be good for Milwaukee.
