im in agreement with that... the next year the Bulls swept Orlando but they had some issues going on.. Listen if Shaq would have stayed i could have seen Orlando winning a title he was raw but dominant
Yeah, next year was two different teams.
* Bulls had picked up Rodman who was completely dominant inside. In Game 1 against Grant he had 13 points and 21 boards while holding Grant to 0 points and 1 board. Averaged 12 and 16 on 53% shooting for the series while playing elite interior defense.
* Grant got hurt in the 3rd quarter of Game 1 and was out the rest of the series
* Koncak was supposed to be Grant's replacement but was playing injured and had to get cortisone injections before tipoff just to be able to play. He was a shytty player anyway, Grant had played 42 minutes/game in '95 cause Magic didn't really have a backup for him.
* Shaw got hurt in Game 2 and was out the rest of the series
* Anderson got hurt in Game 3 and was out the rest of the series, plus he was already playing like absolute dogshyt anyway since he had been shooting horrible ever since choking in the '95 Finals gave him the yips
Shaq (27-11-4 and 2 blocks/game on 64% shooting) and Penny (26-4-4 on 47% shooting) were actually playing at an elite level, but their supporting cast was wrecked. In '95 they had basically played a 7-man rotation and the 7th man sucked ass. In '96 they lost their #3, #5, and #6 men and that doomed them.
