He is , it's just that a vast majority of the mainstream rap game is lukewarm so it gives the illusion that he's a rap elite when in all reality he's just average MC , not terrible but nothing special and I mess with Cole .

Lets hate on a rapper who doesn't talk about money violence and bytchs on every track, produces his own beats, has more money than we'll ever make, gets respect from his peers, gets more bytchs than you ever will, stays lowkey only coming to light when he has music to drop. Yup lets hate this guy.

That the standard is set immensely low rap ain't even on some competitive shyt no more nor does it have any requirements or stipulations set in place the Drake fiasco basically confirmed that it's just one big popularity contest even though you can say it's always been like that to an extent but now it's just blatant and out of control , but that what happens when you let other people dictate your culture on the economic tip they can push whatever they want into the forefront

J.Cole is a great artist in any generation imo. He's overlooked in a
generation because his music has to be digested. "Boring" literally means he's writing and making you think.
This is a generation where the more simple your shyt, and the more catchy it is, somehow makes it better. He's just lost in the times. Still a very good artist.

Agreed in some points, especially about letting outsiders dictate the culture. His produces his own music. Is a very good lyricist. And the most important thing, which is something that's overlooked. He has soul. You can hear the soul in his voice. That's not something you get with all artists tbh. shyt that you can actually feel.
It's the cool thing to hate on Cole, but like I said back in 09. He's gonna be the one to outlast all of them. Including Drake. No sellout shyt. Just slow and steady, taking the long way: but the long way means longevity. His fans appreciate his soul, and is modest nature. He's relatable. He actually feels like a person
Can't get that with everyone. I don't get that with anyone besides K-Dot, if I'm being honest. No one else is rapping about anything these days.
Maybe you're perception or average and mines are different , but either way it's debatable , by the way I ain't make that comment to slander Cole because I do listen to sons music occasionally and I fukk with it but that's just how I feel overall .
Like I said in my previous post , I fukk with Cole but I feel like he doesn't have that much competition due to the overall climate in mainstream hip hop so he's going to look like a diamond surrounded by dirt either way .
