If they thought they didn't have a legit chance to sign him I don't think they would have traded for him. Initially I think they had big plans for Bynum as part of their future. Of course they knew his knees were bad but they didn't expect him to miss the whole season.
this is not the case. they were not making big plans for Bynum to be part of their future. they would have loved for him to ball out this past season and re-sign, but they weren't planning on it.
yea, they knew they had a legit chance of re-signing him. Bynum is from Pennsylvania. they knew it was a 50/50 chance......but its just a 50/50 chance. whether Bynum comes back or not, theyre good either way.
the only L they took was the fact that Bynum missed the entire year. they definitely didn't expect that.
the main thing was that they finally dumped iggy's contract, which they were trying to do for years.
so what good was it for the sixers to move Iggys expiring contract

and they might've (probably not) been cool with bynum not re-signing but were they cool with him playing 0 games
iggy's contract didnt expire. he opted out of Denver.
they were cool with whichever decision he made. they definitely weren't cool with him playing 0 games tho. not cool at all. lol.
