This is even worse than him buying Impact Wrestling. I really hope dude doesn't go broke any time soon because buying the NWA in 2017 is a terrible investment. Even with the tape library, Cokeboy probably has no interest in the tape library at whatever price Corgan bought them for otherwise he would've done it himself. There's no way Corgan makes a profit even selling that shyt to Vince.

The NWA Houston tapes might be part of it (based on stuff popping up on the streaming service) & Vince wanted those before & couldn't get them. There are a few places that WWE couldn't get even when they bought most of it with WCW :yeshrug:

Yeah, I'm looking at the On Demand site right now. They've got Texas and Mid South stuff on there. Lots of old time stars. Probably a pretty good package if you're into 1970s/1980s style rasslin. Somewhat impressed. :ehh:

Dude's net worth is like $50 million, the NWA couldn't possibly have cost more than like 6 figures. I doubt he's stressing over it.

I know his accountant is like:mindblown:
Kudos to Billy tho. Hopefully he can turn them around. Impact was pretty fun with him late last year with the Hardy fukkery.

What would you all do to build up NWA?

I would see the tape library to cokeboy immediately, sign a couple of stars ASAP and get as many names as possible on short term deals.

A top priority would be getting a good publicist and social media person, I would try to get the show poppin on youtube... there are shows that get millions of hits so why not wrestling? Ideally I would eventually be on Netflix if they could upload an episode a week, but I know they like to do whole seasons at a time so idk.

He should position the NWA as a body that facilitates cross-promotion supercards, and matches between organizations. Like if impact, njpw, ROH, CZW, LU, AAA, etc paid small dues to NWA, nwa could broker those cross fed appearances and the companies the wrestlers are on contract for can get more exposure nationally without either side having to worry about IP or use of likeness, etc.

This would've been great for the Hardy's, who thru nwa could've earned njpw tag gold, had a lucha Underground recording, etc.

Basically, the territories exist, and nwa can serve as a way to grow business for everyone without breaking contracts. Pentagon jr. Vs Okada in Tokyo etc. As a promotion, I'd prefer and be comfortable with longer and binding contracts if there was a means for my wresters to get exposed elsewhere without wanting to leave my territory.

What tape library do they even own? isn't JCP already owned by WWE? And wcw and Georgia Championship clearly is. What video does nwa even have rights to?
