I disagree.

Liking summer time doesn't negate the fact that he wasn't taken serious as an MC in the era of "gangsta rap" and beyond, saying otherwise is revisionist IMO. And none of that had anything to do with Eminem. He just wasn't appealing to the street crowd or the lyrical crowd with shyt like "Miami" or "Men in Black", or "Wild Wild West". He was appealing to parents who wanted some kid friendly music which is commendable.
