:lolwtf:

How did they win? Because they're a better team 4 years later due to completely unrelated roster moves?
A lot of those roster moves are directly from that trade. Adams and Kanter being the main ones. This is the first time that Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka have all been healthy for the entire postseason since the trade.

Adams, yes. He was one of the picks from the Harden trade.

Kanter, no. The other 1st rounder they got from Houston in that deal was used on Mitch McGary.

Kanter, Waiters, Roberson. Basically everybody besides Adams since 2012 has been outside of that trade.

And none of the players they got back for Harden are even on the roster anymore.

Harden as a 3rd scorer off the bench playing alongside Westbrook and Durant would still make up one of the greatesr rosters in the NBA. If OKC looses in the finals this year despite having Kanter and Adams via that trade, there's no way that trade can feel justified. If you remember, that Harden/Westbrook/Durant trio killed the Spurs in 2012 and looked just as good as Kanter/Adams are right now. If OKC looses in the finals, than it still comes down to "OKC gave up a top 3 scorer and MVP Candidate that came off the bench"

Didn't like this trade originally, still don't.....but Steven Adams's upgrade on offense and stable play on defense is huge for them.

Laugh it up: Yuk yuk!

They're destroying the team that just shattered the all time win record after beating another team with an all time high in win percentage. If Harden is the starter alongside Durant and Westbrook, they beat the Cav's easily and get a ring this year. A healthy OKC team with Harden is the favorite out of the west every year in this era.

1. that wasn't gonna happen

2. you're also assuming Harden was gonna play well, which goes against what he's done for the majority of his playoff career

What are you talking about? The last time OKC was in the finals was with Harden on the squad. Harden played MVP caliber without Durant and Westbrook, Westbrook played MVP caliber without Durant and Harden. Durant won the MVP trophy. All three of them together would be an all-time great team in this era.

And yes, Harden would be starting at this point in his career.
