Its a shame his career didn't take off like it was supposed to. I blame Puffy but we can't front and act like I Wish didn't have every nikka in their feelings back then! I hated this song with a passion @ the tender age of 9 and I was so emotional ( pun but no intended).

Like why would she lead him on, knowing she was married but why was he dealing shorty after he found out she was married? Its deeper than that. We are adults and it happens all the time.

On some real shyt, subconsciously I enjoyed the song but I felt an overwhelming sense of dejection because I knew I would have a "I Wish I Never Met Him" moment 17 years later.

I wouldn't hurt so much inside

I went out awhile back the DJ played this song. I promise you, damn near every grown ass man was on the dance floor singing this song like Black Men United in the early 90s. Perfect harmony and pitch. Song is a classic!
