Bret Hart was a fukking joke on the mic and was it clearly Neidhart as the Macho Man of the entire situation. He had the personality, the zeal, and the energy. Bret was stumbling and nervous in several of those backstage promos. And after his face turn in 89, he was no better. He got halfway decent by 91 in time for the Perfect feud but nothing was memorable. He won the belt in 92 and was still unsteady. It was easier to get over back then so it worked out for him but he wasn't no damn benchmark for the gameBret was never a struggling promo guy after like 1987. He was a normal promo guy in an era of coked up madness, but he was solid as fukk. 1992 Bret would be a top 5 promo guy in WWE today no question. 1997-1998 Bret would be the top promo guy in WWE today.

Shawn Michaels was a joke too in 92..coming out to silence and getting tepid reactions.
