I always assumed that Lance Storm was originally supposed to win the ECW Title but signed to WCW so instead Heyman put the belt on Justin.... That's My Impact Player

TNA Caught me off guard with this one but I can see why they put the title on him. Sabin is a TNA original who has a marketable story and he can go in the ring.

The thing is I don't know if he has enough charisma to really be seen as a credible champion.To be fair Sabin never really had the opportunity to do much character driven stuff. He always either said a few corny lines about winning a match or he talked about his journey through injures.

I agree with blackhippie,they should of had sabin lose by getting screwed then slowly pushing him to the belt but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.

Difference is Paul Heyman made Justin Credible come off as a Main Eventer in ECW and it worked. TNA doesn't have anyone even approaching 1/10th of Heyman's ability to make stars.

I always thought Alex Shelley would be World Champ before him since he could wrestle, was charismatic, good on the mic good looking, he was the full package he was my fav. Im a liitle bit annoyed since he doesnt stand out to me at all, Aj Styles should be champ right know

Sabin's a good worker and all, but he's devoid of charisma outside of the MCMG partnership and literally just got back into the company. He doesn't have the type of heat behind him that Aries had that merited them derailing a storyline to put the belt on him, and then they did it in such an ass backwards way as to make his win look like a total fluke. They should've just had Sabin wrestle him straight up, run even with Bully, and look like a never say die babyface, then lose. I feel like that would have been better for him.

And yes, I would much rather have Bully Ray as the champion of TNA right now than Chris Sabin. Charisma and talking ability means a lot, and I've never rated Sabin as some super worker. Good, pretty good. But not an amazing guy in the ring or anything.
