Agreed. AA's are a population of 40,000,000+ people. That's particularly a number of a nation. I always said AA's should build their own mini nation in the USA. Every harmful stereotype of black people is perpetuated through our media. Rap is a very big part of black people's media catalog. From blaxploitation, to hood films, to rap music, you can see all of those forms of media heavily reflected in black culture/society. And fukk stereotypes for the way whites and others use it to judge, i am talking about how it effects the way we see and treat ourselves. Considering that black people disproportionately consume a larger amount of media, you have to infer that the media we consume has a lot to do with our behavior, opinions, and outlooks. I do think if we get rid of rap music, the mindset of a black kids would change. Would we still be materialistic? Yes. But this culture of being flashy and dashy, fukkin' hoes/not being a family man, doing anything to get a quick buck, not being a "square", etc. would die down very quickly cause there'd be no one to project that as the image of being "cool".
