So Courtdog was right about the cloud, right?

Microsoft always said it's up to the developers to use it. Crackdown 3 didn't live up to the hype but that was more on our fear of connected consoles than it is Microsoft but that's alright.

Kojima will help usher in that trend

Flight Simulator definitely will help.

Just imagine tho if you will. What happens when a game like Forza Horizon starts using it?

Let me say that again, what happens when Forza Horizon starts using flight sim tech?
If I could drive all around my own neighborhood? Wouldn't that be :mindblown: tech? I'd rather play that than whatever FH5 can do. I mean I will appreciate it all but I'm saying in general I'd rather race in familiar places if that was an option.

GTA6: Your neighborhood dlc :wow:

If they major players don't do it first, a smaller company will and they'll blow up. Then the majors will follow like they did with the battle royal genre. Tbc...

Xcloud really is killing it now even in the beta. I spent several hours of Yakuza 0 playing off Safari on my Mac and am now 5 chapters deep into Yakaza Kiwami and I still haven't even downloaded it to my Series X yet:wow:

The value is:wow:

why would they use it if they're already using real locations?
That's like saying why use the tech in flight sim? I mean I get it why turn 10 would be hesitant but ultimately they'll have to figure it out before somebody else does :francis:
So you bought a new $500 console when you could have just kept your Xbox 360 and let the cloud make up the difference? Is that what you're saying?
I've been saying that actually but the tech still warrants a console purchase until internet speeds make physical consoles obsolete. And I'm guessing you're not seeing this happen already?
He wouldn't know anything about him :mjlol:
I don't care for the bullshyt versions of ff, I'm an og so cloud was named "fighter" and if we jocking characters Vyse shyts on cloud ya dig :camby:

The Flight Sim tech is oriented towards relative realism from a few hundred feet in the air. Auto gen buildings are almost always bad quality up close and if the target location doesn't have photogrammetry data then the overall quality is subpar. The only technology that could/would transfer is the rendering technology but what was shown at E3 was a step above.

I don't know enough about the hardware nor connectivity requirements for something like this, I'd always halfway guessed that that was going to demand quantum computing to pull off at that level of detail.

Through his dementia, Court us right about how impressive the MSFS technology is, and it's not the worst idea. But to make the sort of Horizon game he mentioned, they would have to pick one good location they have photogrammetry data for and polish heavily. Massive amounts of texture work, custom assets for incorrect data, cleaning up anomalies from the scan. That's several years of work for the artists alone, not to mention it all starts over for the next location they choose.

That said, if they can optimize the method they use to stream world data in, they can ship a low fidelity version of the map to the player and stream in the quality data as necessary. Then Court can bang his "Power of the Cloud" drum.

And you think that's not possible today :usure: I can Google maps and then stroll down my street. Combine that with flight sim tech and develop a software that easily translates that into video. That software will work like like procedurally generated levels are created. You see it in the unreal 5 tech if you've watched any of those. But you know, maybe you know something I don't know and that's why you're the guy with the PhD :hhh:

I'm saying the shyt ain't practical :usure:. Unlike a mattress from Craigslist, the majority of the work couldn't be reused. So unless you want a the same location for 3 games like it's Crackdown, :camby:
