I may have to actually go to DC to try it but what I had wasn't all that. Ordered mumbo sauce online and it tastes just like sweet & sour sauce from the Chinese spots.
Mumbo sauce must have come to DC the same time “Joe” did
I got 2 bottles in my cabinet and I agree. It’s good but nothing to brag about.

You need to go to Eddie Leonard’s in Marlboro Pike in District Heights, MD or you can hit up either Howard China or Jerry’s on Georgia Ave in DC. Some of the best mumbo sauce in the DMV.
Capitol City follows their own recipe but it’s a Black-owned product by this DC couple (the husband passed away earlier last year tho). Some don’t really fukk with the formula of that specific brand, others don’t mind it too much. I’ve grown to tolerate it since I’m trynna support Black-owned and not get my sauce from the Koreans as much but eventually I wanna make my own mumbo sauce like a lot of DC and fellow PG folks do nowadays.
