I don't know/care why Drama did it. I'm happy the info came out. That's like asking why did the guys that leaked the Eminem racist tapes do it. Who cares why?

If they were looking to get paid, or jealous of Eminem....does it matter?

And I'm :dead: at "but he credited QM"....yeah, for what exactly? We didn't even know who the guy was, or what he did until this last week.

I mean....QM ain't even credited on all the songs there's references for, either. So that blows a hole in that angle.

And all the reference tracks were taken down immediately. We had to keep putting them up nonstop to even keep them on the internet.

This is the action of a guy that doesn't care who knows....who isn't hiding anything?

The major difference between Ye, Dre, Kim, Puff, etc. and Drake is Drake sells himself as an MC. He considered himself a GOAT contender, brags about his pen game, says he's better than his peers, etc. Which is why he's on the Sprite ad with actual MCs. That's the lane he tried to sell himself in.

Lastly, I need to clear something up. I never once said "OMG Drake is the end of hip-hop". I said Drake should've just came clean about needing help. That's it. That's literally all I've asked. We been sitting here for 5-6 years hearing nonstop about how nice Drake is, and dude turns out to be Puff Daddy. It would be nice for his fans to admit that's the lane he's in, as opposed to "best of his generation, GOAT contender", and all that over the top stan shyt.

I would like to see someone have a good rebuttal to this:ehh:

Good stuff

I wonder if Drama is the one who just committed career suicide.

Thing is Drama has always been a sometimey, snake like dude. Like someone in here mentioned he wanted to be like Khaled but Khaled doesn't play the same games as Drama does...Drama has gone on record saying you gotta be at a certain level in the game to work with him so yea he's entitled as fukk. If he gets exposed as a snake off of this then it's really his own fault

I'm :dead: at people more angry that Drama sold the reference tracks....than the fact that the reference tracks exist in the first place.

Here's a crazy idea....gee, I dunno um maybe....DON'T USE REFERENCE TRACKS.

Matter of fact :what: at being mad at Drama when Drake stans been trying to tell us the reference tracks ain't a big deal. Which is it? I mean....if it's such a common occurrence and no big deal at all why is Drama the bad guy here. It's business as usual right? :manny:

Fred.
It was obviously supposed to be a free mixtape, which might even explain why Drake would ever let a nikka come up with complete concepts and stuff (if that was what happened). The beef between YM and CMB starts, Drake wants out of his contract and keeps the same mixtape and sells it as an album on iTunes to move away from the situation.

Drama who Drake worked with in good faith, fukks Drake over.
Meek who Drake repped hard as fukk, tries to fukk him over (obviously failed miserably where only like 0.001% of the rap game cares about some help on a mixtape).

If my man committed some crimes and the police asks me who it is, I wouldn't tell them.
In fact I would tell no one if my man committed a crime like robbery, even though I hate robbers and other criminals. Specially if I know that my man is a good man really, he just slipped up and committed some criminal acts. Even if this is business, it was really bad business for Meek and Drama, no one will ever trust them with anything and his now being labelled a bytch by millions of people all over the world.

why is Drama a hoe for leaking the reference tracks but Drake using reference tracks is all fine and dandy. I feel like I'm in the matrix.
Because it seems like it's coming from a place of hating not genuine "damn this is fake" type shyt. If I was Drama and I knew Drake or the artist I'm about to host this tape for got nikkas holding his hand through songs like the pop artist we see he is, I gotta make a choice on whether to nip that shyt in the bud for my base of integrity as a hip-hop head, or put that tradition aside to catch a quick million. He chose door #2 cause he probably didn't care and also what has Drama been doing lately to turn down money? Drake level money.

He sold it after the fact cause he got cut out of hosting it. So he was feeling some kind of way.

The problem with this thread is people are getting the motivation for doing something mixed up with "should it be done?"

Drama could be the worst person in the world, it doesn't change the fact that the references existed to be exploited in the first place.

Yeah I feel you. I think this shyt is a harbinger for our genre myself. But Drama didn't feel that way till he wasn't getting his cut off this tape. Or else he wouldn't have worked with a reference track using nikka. He sold it to Meek so Meek could the face of the controversy, not him. He wanted to make Drake bleed without putting his neck out there. But since it's all backfiring he tweeted what he tweeted "put my integrity" on the line. Integrity that he didn't have anyway or else this shyt wouldn't be where it's at.

Depends on if Fred has decided what side he wants to be on. Since the beef initially popped off he went from hating Drake, to #TeamMeek to trying to now save face as the rational level headed spectator. I just think it's funny a couple lines get lifted from some reference tracks and now Drake doesn't write anything and he's "Puff Daddy". Funny the same dudes who never gave Drake credit for his pen are now giving backhanded compliments to him & are now trying to discredit him for using ghostwriters & somehow equating his whole discography to everybody else but him. @hexagram23 is a a smart dude, can't front, but does he have a rebuttal for that?

and the fact that he was using reference tracks on what was supposed to be a FREE MIXTAPE is even more hilarious :mjlol:
ole "this just a tape i put together in my free time for the fans cuz im nice like that :smugdraper: light work" ass nikka :snoop:

not even gonna speak on how pathetic it is to need a reference track for a 16-bar feature :scust:
