I really don't care much how Russell ultimately performs as a Laker, but make no mistake, I only brought up facts with Russell. Every time a big game came around he'd forget how to shoot. He ain't playing in any big games for the foreseeable future so it'll be a while before we find out if he fixes that problem. That should bug you out, not inconsistency in a rookie season.

So a game vs the 2nd best team in the NBA (who also happens to be the #1 Defensive Team in the NBA) isn't a big game.......but games vs random amateur players (who most of them now either are in the D-League, still in college, or graduated and work a 9-5) were big games?

I'd say D-Lo's performance last night was a good in a big game

His performance last night was big for a 19 year old against number 1 defensive team in the league. Gods have blessed the lakers, and knicks too for that matter with Porzingod

That jumper by year 3 will be money. I can't even imagine how nice his midrange j will be in a couple of years. It's already advanced for his age. His biggest issue is gonna be finishing around the basket. Might never be the quickest but I thing he's gonna get stronger and use his size to bully smaller PGs and that's how he'll overcome that

His finishing is pretty good, i mean like when he decides to attack, pretty impressive

and @tremonthustler1 when I was wondering why Russ was missing so many shots in the summer league and preseason, you brought up the fact that he struggled against better comp in college so now that's finding his game in the NBA, all of a sudden it's wait until he plays games that are important. . Those summer league sure were important huh.

I would gladly trade Clarkson for a perimeter defender/stretch big if I'm the Lakers.

Maybe but Clarkson is gonna be a relatively cheap player for the next 3 years...should look into free agency before moving him

Russell is gonna need to watch some tape of Harden this summer. As ugly as his game is, Russell need to pattern himself after that. Russ draws a lot of contact because he doesn't have top end speed to separate from his defender. He doesn't really know how to take advantage of that yet but when he does he's gonna be shooting 10-15 FT's per night

I tend to not give a shyt how a player performs if that team is getting their ass kicked but to each his own. Good for Russell I guess but those games mean a lot more once they win. I'm generally a harsher critic than you are so understand where I'm coming from

When have I ever used summer league as an indictment or precursor to someone's career? I didn't talk about Russell based of summer league. I talk about Russell based off Ohio State. A lot of us did. Everyone else just shyts on him because he's on your team.
