Never knew that
KLC said he made that beat specifically for X too
I'm trying to imagine X over that beat and I can definitely imagine him crushing it. There's another big "What if?" It's like the beat for "In Da Club" originally being made for D12 instead of 50 Cent.
D12 would have wasted that beat
Would've been a smash
Can't hear nobody but Luda on that shyt. Nicca was and is criminally underrated in how he jumped in pockets on songs to make them uniquely his.
Oh, most definitely. A good beat would've gone to waste. Thank the spirits of hip-hop that they passed on it. Imagine Bizarre rapping over that beat.
ya'll nikkas ain't lying
DMX and Mystikal on that shyt
Another fun fact. Kanye West made the Heart of the City beat with DMX in mind. That always seemed like a head-scratcher to me. Obviously, he wasn't gonna say no to Jay, and now I can't hear anyone on it but Jay.
Ehh, I’m glad it didn’t. Luda killed that one of, if not, his most iconic track.
X would've killed it
Adding onto fun facts, Quik originally offered the "Heartz of Men" beat to 2nd II None for their album and they passed on it.
I'm just imagining Luda, Mystikal, and X all on the same track
Who cares..I hate stories like this.
I don't know. It could have gone either way. If it had to be a song like "Purple Pills" or "My Band" then it would have sucked, but if it's something like "When the Music Stops" or "Rap Game," it would have been classic. D12 usually shined when they did lyrical/introspective tracks.
