Real question for those of you who played/coach. Just wondering if someone like Peyton can retire, and if he wants, assume a job as an OC or does he go be a QB coach? Some other position coach/lower staff? Does he get named head coach on some NBA shyt? Just wondering what the realistic coaching prospects look like for him?

chill out...i'm just asking where someone like him lands in the world of coaching, should he choose that, based on him always being called the de-facto OC of his teams currently. as far as i'm concerned, this nikka could go open a papa peyton's and cake off his own pizza, this thread was for pure conversation amongst NFL coach/coordinator hiring season

all-time great NFL players almost never go into coaching for some reason.. not like the NBA. Although Manning is one guy I could see breaking that mold and trying to do it.

I'm sure if he wanted to he could walk right into an OC job, but I see him trying to be an executive on some Elway shyt

He's a coach right now.

If he wanted to do that he would be good at it.

Peyton eats, sleeps and breathes football which is what you have to be able to do in order to be good at it.

We can say he is a glorified coach now and if he wanted to do that he would be good at it....
BUT the problem with that is he IS running the show.....so to say that because he can run his own show doesn't=to him being able to coach/teach/show others how to do it...

I think being on the field and not being able to be on the field would drive him insane. More likely going to a front office position.

He'll join one of the NFL gameday crews immediately, I'd think. Ray Lewis would get the :camby: with the quickness probably.

ESPN won't come out and say it but they probably don't want an all white crew.

It would be Dilfer or Young to get the boot.

heard through the grapevine when he left indy one of his main objectives was to get a big ass contract so he could eventually parlay that into an ownership group. makes sense. the guy lives and breathes football, from the field to the advertising dollars.
