yeah well think it's a big deal...a lot of dude's need to really check their women for running around with fakkits spitting "advice" in their ear
true.
but thats besides the point.
one of my biggest gripes with the show was that its overproduced. shyt it was too over the top and unrealistic
i had my gripes with this when watching the previews.
but once i gave the show a chance, i realized that its a primetime soap opera. with that said, i like the show for what it is.
It's because Empire has a prominent gay character and Power doesn't. That's literally the ONLY reason why people here have a problem with it but instead of being real with themselves and admitting it they're throwing in all this extra bullshyt about negative black stereotypes as if they don't listen to hip hop or loved shows with similar subject matter.
This is coming from someone who watched the first ep and wasn't impressed by it. Idk, I may give it another shot and watch a few more but I just thought the show was corny. But I based that on the writing and over the top nature, not the so-called stereotypes. Shyt, I consider the Wire the greatest show of all time but according to these nyggas' standards that was a c00nfest too(prominent gay black character, black men being thugs, few positive images of black men, lesbian black female character, etc)
nah. the reason why these dudes criticize the show is because theres a bandwagon going on, and some of the people who make videos that they watch on youtube have criticized it. they follow behind them without even thinking.
jamal is NOT a prominent character. hes in the suporting cast breh. thats how i know most of the people complaining about the gay stuff, dont even watch the show.
and the gay scenes that they do have are simple PG stuff and cancelled out once we get the scenes of lucious chittin on jamal - which makes it all worth it.
and yea, ive seen way worse on the wire. all the way down to the gay stuff.
