So Empire blowing up

I haven't tuned in since the 3rd ep......I liked it at first but I saw the direction it was heading in which was


I love me some Taraji and I fukks with Terrence Howard as an actor but I don't like either of their characters. shyt none of the characters are that likable to me. The gay son can't do no wrong when it comes to the music shyt tho. The youngest son is a straight lame and the other one appears to be the c00n.

I also ain't trying to see fukking precious with a blonde wig on looking crazy..


Power is better to me. I haven't seen money & violence yet. Blackish is my shyt. I don't know if I will give Empire another chance. The stereotypes/overload c00nery & fukkery just jumps out way too much that it becomes cartoony. Its like they covered every single stereotype known to man for blacks and went overboard with it.

That was a terrible show. The acting was retarded and the show was just stupid.

We can say the same thing about the last half of family matters too.

Let's Stay Together got mad corny tho. Half of the storylines didn't make sense, or they start a story line and then jump to something completely different. It did have the baddest roster of females on t.v. though. The brown skin sister being the baddest....

I respect both of these post just off of the strength that they gave an actual reason why they didn't like the show, me personally just enjoyed it for what it was, a decent sitcom about two successful non sterotypical black couples living life.


My problem is just people hating empire because it reinforces negative sterotypes
...but we had a show with a black cast that doesn't reinforce negative sterotypes, but the show was boring, or bad acting or something of that nature...seems it's always gotta be a reason why we don't like something that predominantly black.

Watched it on Hulu

I can't remember a tv show with an ensemble cast and almost zero likable characters

Everyone either has a cartoonish-level bad attitude from the moment they're introduced, or they quickly reveal themselves to be a horrible person tryna bring someone else down. The only ones that are likable at all are Terrence Howard's new wife, and his right hand man...and I can tell from the tone of their scenes that they're supposed to be antagonists

That's actually what I like about Empire...

All of the main characters have a certain skillset, a redeemable quality that makes you want them to win, and a possibly fatal flaw that'll fukk over everything they want to accomplish.

As of now, nobody can Any character without getting called out on their fukkups...I hope it stays that way too.

Martin is possibly teh greatest sitcom of all time, at least the first few seasons. New blacks with 35 Linux certs can't relate to that shyt though.

The problem with black shows is shytty condescending writing, which leads to 2 dimensional characters, mainly because teh creative staff is too busy covering their asses and trying to keep a damn job to intellectually engage their audience. Basically, THE CHARACTERS HAVE NO fukkING DEPTH, WHICH IS REFLECTED IN STILTED fukkING DIALOGUE AND ABSURD LEAPS IN LOGIC IN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

Haven't watched it because all the major networks are ass and only put out ass, I watched LOST when I was like 14 but that's it.
