Lucius' character and story has no similarities to none of them. Lucius is essentially the same character from Hustle & Flow if they continued the story and he blew up and became a music mogul. The only real Hip Hop mogul, Lucius shares similarities with is Master P.
It's like I understand it's appeal but it's like...
shyt don't know if it want's to be the black "Glee" or The Wire for homos...it's a clusterfukk and gimmicky as fukk. I think the worst thing about it is that it's format is damn near a sure fire success. You're gonna have musicians who don't even like the show coming on just because it's a good look which will help prop it up.

The wire had homos but they were just apart of the story...Empire got a lot of forced, nonsensical street flim flam that was clearly written by a ghei...on some finger pointing at the moon shyt.

Like Empire, one of the homos in The Wire had a huge fanbase. Neither are the main characters, but are still integral parts of the story. The gay son in Empire is not something they just threw in there. They based the relationships between Lucius and his sons on King Lear, which also had a gay son.
If Empire had an Eminem-esque character...
Jamal is like the least gay thing about the show to me
It's not even about the characters it's about the tone and the dialogue.
