I love every single Badu album lol. I’m just talking about people being mad at shyt she has said over the years and trying to so called cancel her. They be the same people who can’t name any Badu songs past maybe Honey. People were mad because of what she said about the girls in school wearing revealing clothes anc whatever she said about Hitler.

Oh, those people are sleeping on her lol her music is fire period and they should at least give her other albums a chance.

I hear what your saying but she was wyling for that so in my opinion I can't be mad at all for people not rocking with her after those comments. Even if those people weren't big fans of her's to begin with I can see why they wouldn't like what she said.

Facts but domestic violence is a one way street. A woman can beat a man and it's the mans fault if that happens but a man can't beat a woman.

That's why femenism and all that kind of SJW stuff is a joke. People are only outraged when it benefits their interest and are not about being fair all across the board.

True that and they are on her hard. I peeped how she apologized right away after making that comment and they still breathing down her back.

White people always try to say black should forget about slavery and how that's old shyt but they would never tell a Jew forget about Hitler smh. Ain't that some shyt?

I hope so, I do see that she will be at Afropunk this year :jbhmm: Might have to finally check it out.

Tyler The Creator's also gonna be there as well as, HER, Denzel Curry and Janelle Monae too. I wished they had a few more rappers this year but it is what it is.
Yeah, Afropunk looks lit this year. I’d love to see H.E.R. live someday. She’s so talented. :D. I am seeing Janelle this summer on the DC tour. Can’t wait for that. I’m sure she’s going to kill Afropunk too. I wish the festival was streamed like Coachella or something, for those who can’t make it there.

Feminism isn’t a joke, 45 men as president in a row and the country being a military based empire after 45 male presidents in a row ran it into the ground isn’t a joke.

Men getting fukked in divorce court and domestic abuse cases is something that should be addressed, as should the fact that men seem to always get to be in charge etc.
A lot of so called men’s rights activists seem to think things offset, or that they’re more oppressed than women, so they fight back against social progress - but really society has a lot of work to do on several fronts and the faster we realize that the sooner progress will be made.

Yeah it does, I'm strongly considering going this year. I mean to see H.E.R live would be dope because I heard she's an amazing performer but I also never seen Badu perform or Janelle.

Janelle is a dope performer too I hear so I know you're going to enjoy seeing her at the DC tour. Also I agree, they need to get with the 21 century and stream the concert.

Are you a woman saying this? or are a guy who think kicking this kind of message will get him laid? Which one.

Now let me get to it, Femenisim is a joke because as far as I see women only want to be equal with men when it benefits them but the truth is they will never be equal with men because they are socialized differently and usually have different desires and needs anyway so that's not what they truly want. They only say they want to be equal due to the indoctrination and adhering to the message of the feminist movement. Truly, women want to and should be treated fairly which is why I say femenism is bullshyt because the premise is wrong and too extreme when measured against the reality of the situation.

I'm all for women being treated fairly but the thing is we would be outraged if Erykah Badu or any woman was being chased with a car and threatened to be ran over by a man but when the situation was put out there by Erykah that she did that to Jay Electronica there was no outrage. Which goes back to my point that we are socialized differently, different psychologically, we have different expectations and feminism is too extreme. It's not a black and white issue but an issue with a grey area and lots conversation has to take place so we can develop a greater understanding between the sexes. That's how I feel about it and I'm not a men's rights activist either.

I’ve never seen them both perform neither. I’m glad I’m getting the opportunity for Janelle, and maybe I’ll get to see Erykah in the near future as well. I hope you get to see them live someday yourself. :D

I get what you’re saying, and I’ve heard all these pseudo-humanist arguments about “the premise is wrong” I just think that you defining what feminism is shows the kind of problems activists talk about. You’re automatically defining what feminism means, and it’s negative - whereas there’s a broad spectrum of feminists, some who don’t agree with each other. The premise isn’t that difficult, women couldn’t vote etc. in the early 70s when the movement jumped off - women were expected to be subservient housewives. The first wave just wanted to be able to do what they wanted.
I’m not doubting there are “feminists” who want things when they benefit, and don’t want to focus on things like men being falsely accused of rape etc. but that doesn’t mean that “feminism” is a joke, that just means certain people are stupid.

You don’t oppose the main tenants of “feminism” which is to treat everybody equally regardless of gender. So I think when you redefine what feminism means into something specific and negative you’re automatically going to think it’s a joke. But that’s like if someone called the NAACP a joke because Rachel Dolezal. You just focus too much on the stupid people who can’t articulate their thoughts or just blindly follow what others say.

Edit: for the record I think what erykah badu did is really fukked up. I didn’t mean to derail the thread

Pseudo-humanist? Man...don't try to evaluate me or put me in some kind of box shut the fukk up man lol.

Now, I'm not defining what femenism means but I am letting you know what it means to most woman who spew that rhetoric and why it is non-sense to me in the context of today's society. Most of them are stupid and illogical which is why I do not co-sign or advocate for such movements, just like I don't co-sign Bwgtow. I know how it started with Elizabeth Cady Stanton regarding the suffrage movement and people like that so don't think I'm oblivious or you know more then me. The thing is , that was then and this is now so in today's world it is largely bullshyt. I understand and respect that woman should have their spaces to talk on their issues and should fight for their respect in society but to be equal with men is a misnomer and inaccurate, it would never happen. The reason for this being that Men and Women are different not saying one is better then the other but we are both necessary parts of the whole so it wouldn't be equal and that is not what they truly want when you analyze the matter.

Case and point, If I go on a date with a woman she would expect for me to be a gentleman and pull out her chair for her, open the car door and etc etc. . If I'm hanging out with the bros I'm not doing all of that and if I didn't do it for the woman I'm on date with she would feel I'm not a gentleman and may ascribe that to me having a poor upbringing or something making her no longer want to date me, however that would be me treating her "equally". That's a little example but it shows why feminism doesn't make sense if you apply that to the larger picture. Woman just want what they could get out the deal and if we let feminist get exactly what they wanted I'm sure they would treat men the same way we treated them becoming exactly what they claimed to be fighting against which is part of why I say it's too extreme.

Also what Erykah Badu did was fukked up and I'm a fan but the truth is the truth.

As for the NAACP, it is kind of is a joke because it's owned by jewish people. Look it up!

What's this I'm hearing about it being a wrap for Erykah Badu.

I know she recently said something about seeing the good in Hitler that has the jews pissed off and outraged still after she said it months ago, but is there something else I should know about :jbhmm:

Update:I see what it is now, apparently she said R Kelly was her brother and he did a lot of good for black people :mjlol: People are mad at her about that and I see why.
Erykah Bad hasn't had a hit since the early 2000's. Do y'all consider her a legacy artist at the point?
