I was thinking about my own spending habits and how digital has very slowly crept into my purchasing habits this gen.

I think indies, and the fact a lot of them just don't have physical options to purchase has really softened my stance. Now to be clear, I always prefer physical copies. And I will never buy a day 1 digital copy for full price. At least for now.

But the sales have won me over. PSN has really stepped up this gen in terms of sales. Their is constantly flash sales with deep discounts. Hell I just picked up the Tomb Raider Definitive edition because for ~7 bucks, why not?

Anyway I won't include indies,as stated you really don't have an option with the majority.

On PC you don't really have a choice. 913 games on steam, all digital (that's over an 11 year period though)

All my console games are physical, except for a few ps4 exclusive indies. I prefer physical, but the PC world is what it is :manny:

Well on PS4 the goddamn save file is the just as big when you buy the disc compared to buying digital. So from here forth, I'm strictly digital.

I'm seeing me leaning more towards digital games at this point in time since the avenues for me getting physical games are seasonal (Summer Vacation when I go to America, friend/family member goes to America and purchases) along with the fact that I save more buying digital than even entertaining the notion of shipping an actual disc here and paying upwards of 15/25 just to clear it.

I never really bought digital games for the 360/Ps3 since I always had a rather sizable backlog of games I've gotten from Gamestop every year coupled with my insistence on playing one genre at a time which has added to that already growing list, so I never felt compelled to buy any single player game fresh off the bat 'cause by the time I got around to playing it, it could be found for way cheaper, thus making me buying it full price and putting it down for months/years a waste; Heck, I JUST opened Borderlands 1 this month.:francis: Plus, I like the ability to be able to sell games I wanted to one off or didn't like after I completed.

The solid majority of my digital games I've purchased on Steam along with freebies from Xbl/psn. I try to keep my digital purchases relegated directly towards titles I know I'll either keep or get for dirt cheap but with this current gen's spacial releases of games I find interesting enough to cop first day this number will stagnate since I should honestly be sitting back and waiting for deals/discounts. Despite not having shyt to play this gen, it ain't like I ain't got dozens of games still wrapped in plastic, aging like wine I can't crack open and get at.:ehh:
With that being said, I think I might buy the Division off the bat since the squad jumping on it....really glad I didn't do this for Starwars/Rainbow six like them fools made me do for Dying light..but that had single player and I actually preferred to go it alone in that one.

The PC gamers have told you guys this for years now.

It was inevitable, you simply cannot beat the digital deals. There is a breaking point that I have been trying to tell people before...why care so much for a physical copy when you can grab a digital copy so cheap that the potential resale value doesn't make sense?

IMO ALL Physical releases should include something...maybe a little statue and charge consumers anywhere between $79-$99 per game. Keep digital at $59.99 to make things fair. I don't think Physical and Digital copies of games should both launch at $59.99...that just doesn't make sense. If Digital has to release for $59.99, then charge more for physical copies.

Been buying all digital simply because those games unlock at like 8-9 PM the night before official release here in AZ. :ahh: Other than Watch Dogs & AC: Unity i haven't really taken any L's as far as buying games I'm not gonna want to keep.

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is the first full game I've bought digital this generation. It was only $7.50 so I wasn't investing $60 into something I could never trade or sell. Comcast is also an issue for me with games being so large I can easily go over this bullshyt data cap.
