Nobody really said it, but it looks like Megatron has an Autobot symbol instead of a deception one...

:dwillhuh: Explain this breh.

And tell me what happens to Optimus and Galvatron at the end of the G1 timeline, they just skip to beast wars and you don't hear shyt about em anymore.:patrice:

:lolbron: I don't know why Megs is rolling with the Autobots now (that's just a preview from April's comics), but I'll do my best to explain the story thus far in the IDW comics. I'll put it in spoilers in case people don't want to see it.

At this point, the war has ended and the Autobots have won. Transformers from all over are coming back home to Cybertron. A lot of these Transformers are NAILS (Non Affiliated Indigenous Lifeforms, coined by Prowl), people who didn't choose a side and abandoned the planet when the war started. Optimus Prime renounced his leadership, reclaimed the name Orion Pax, and left Cybertron. There are two comics that are showing the aftermath.

More Than Meets The Eye: Rodimus, Ultra Magnus, Drift, and a crew of 200+ Transformers leave the planet in search of the Knights of Cybertron, the first Transformers who brought about the Golden Age of Cybertron and then left to spread peace throughout the cosmos.

Robots In Disguise: Bumblebee, Prowl, Wheeljack, Ironhide, and other Autobots do their best to bring order back to Cybertron. Starscream acts as the representative for the Decepticons.

Dark Cybertron is the current crossover between the two books and Shockwave is the main villain. Way back in the beginning of the war, he left Cybertron to seed other planets with Energon to see what properties it would gain.

As far as Optimus and Galvatron, the US cartoon ended after Rebirth (when they introduced the Headmasters and Targetmasters). In Japan, they took the cartoon in a whole different direction (I've downloaded it, but I haven't watched it yet). The Headmasters are not humanoids who become robot heads; they're actually smaller Transformers who connect to bigger bodies. I think the Autobot Headmasters eventually kill Galvatron by trapping him in a block of ice and sending him off the planet.

Also, when Beast Wars was in development, the writers were throwing around the idea that the Optimus and Megatron in that show would be the original G1 versions before they decided that they would be descendants instead.
