The Alt-right is a construct created by Richard Spencer and Breitbart to carefully curate and cultivate an image of "sanitary" white supremacy under the guize of nationalism. The name "alt-right" was created as a marketing ploy by these internet dwelling denizens of stupid town because it was more palatable and easy to use and confuse people of lesser intellect into believing they were an alternative to the status quo.
There is no equivalent left wing movement like this.
