You're going to get these forever, because if we're honest, the vast majority of wrestling shows fall between dogshyt and meh.

Everytime they do a needlessly long ass show

So every mania and summerslam I guess

That's the biggest problem. There was absolutely no reason for this show to be six hours long. The crowd was tired after the Cena/AJ Styles match and that was like 2-3 hours into it.

Not with stacked rosters and good looking cards on paper. I don't think I've seen so many underwhelming shows with good matches announced like these last 2 years in WWE. I bytch about current New Japan all the time they still deliver (imo) for the most part in the ring when they have a good looking card.

NXT does it way better. They start with an over act yes but they progressively build towards the main events. They know they can put the women and the men's title back to back. So they have the up and comers and debuting acts go on in the middle and then hit you with a great tag titles match and lead right into the main events.

On this show with this many matches I think you open hot like they did with the Enzo/Cass/Owens/Jericho tag but then have much of the filler in between. Then throw on Brock/Orton because of the finish. Then you put Cena/AJ and Balor back to back because Balor has a better chance of overcoming a tired crowd following Aj/Cena then anyone else is going to.

the placement was just as ridiculous as some of the booking lol

That opening match killed the crowd Enzo/Cass came off as complete scrubs compared to Jericho/Owens the hot tag spot hit for no longer than 10 seconds then you have an ugly finish because Enzo botched. Sasha and Charlotte come right out of the gate botching luckily they got crowd back into it later but completely killed the mood when Charlotte we over Charlotte probably got most heat of the night to be real after the win. Coming back with Miz vs Crews really would've put me in checkout mode especially having Crews job like some nobody. New Day were not over at all tonight that Jon Stewart shyt was not necessary and killed the crowd cold after AJ won. Crowd was really only hot for Women's match,AJ/Cena and Balor/Rollins. Becky and Nikki got big pops but once the match started the crowd died again.

Enzo/Cass vs. Jericho/Owens was fine placement wise. You have to start the show with something hot and you can't have AJ and Cena going 4th. That's ridiculous. Anyone with a clue would know that at worst it's going to be the second biggest match on the card if not the top. I get why you wouldn't end the show with it but it'd be fine if it was second from the top and then Balor main events and wins the universal title. That would have worked. Brock/Orton needed to be in the middle especially with that finish.

Yeah the opening match was the right call it's just the quality of the match was ass and got show started off on bad foot. That Sasha loss really was a nutshot though that was the one thing that really turned the crowd off. If AJ/Cena were gonna go have that type of match you gotta put that later in the card they could've threw that heatless Smackdown title match and New Day tag above that. That botched ending to the Brock/Orton really gonna make the show look like shyt 2 bullshyt finishes to end the night is a no go.

Women's match was terrible. So sloppy and reckless. After Charlotte dropped Sasha, it seemed like she was trying to call the match on the fly, but didn't actually know how, so she just stood around thinking about what she should do next. Sasha is going to break her damn neck in the ring one day. Who the fukk okayed the Razor's Edge rana spot? She barely made the rotation. In fact, I think her head DID hit the mat on the way down.

AJ/Cena was great, because context matters and it wasn't just Cena doing MOVEZ to get smarks to like him like during the US title matches. Everything about the Stewart involvement was awful. From the backstage thing, to the New Day thing, to the New Day/Club match. I'm up to Dean/Ziggler and want to shut this shyt off. You can't do an angle where they tell you Dolph has been a big fukking loser because he was written that way. Now he has a chance "without management", which implies the match is a shoot, which implies everything else is fake, and if Ziggler loses again he's the ultimate big fukking loser...but if he wins, he was written that way. This is why worked shoot stuff is always fukking dumb, because it destroys the logic of everything else on the show. Plus both dudes fukking suck.

Can't tell a good story anymore.

They can it's just it only seems to happen on NXT and in the CWC. Vince and the agents on the main roster with Dunn's involvement, they are just brutal. Everything is pretty much finisher, kickout, finisher, kickout. NXT isn't worked that way at all

The AJ/Cena placement boggles my mind. If you are gonna let those two have a "WWE epic" with so many big moves and kickouts - that are normally saved for Mania - you can't put that shyt in 4th place.

I think it's really hard to tell a compelling story when you are not booked in a position to succeed most of the time. The only matches booked to get a great reaction were the opener, Sasha/Charlotte and AJ/Cena. Everything else had a high fukking mountain to climb to get the crowd back, either because they were tired or because the match didn't mean shyt, in the case of Dean/Dolph they did told a decent story but the crowd was completely burned out and it was THE BEGINNING of hour 2 :why:

Each hour had a main event. You can't have the title matches both be bellow the two big non-title matches without killing those titles more than they already were. :yeshrug:

I disagree. Dean vs Dolph would've meant a whole lot more to the belt and both wrestlers with a crowd that wasn't completely tired and was willing to give them a chance. Put them 4th and the title looks better than 1 hour later with a crowd that treated it like a Velocity match.

They were never going to be a real main event on this show. I'll take a lower card placement with a more engaged crowd than higher placement - that was never going to be higher than middle of the 3rd hour - with a crowd that has been burned out thanks to booking and a match that had 10 big kickouts between two of the most over guys in the roster.
