The amount of the fine is a fraction of what one would pay per onto for insurance. So it's hardly a consequence.
I don't understand the logic of paying a fine versus having affordable healthcare coverage.

Its just people that like to look at the worst at everything and pound their keyboard in faux outrage

You are no worse than Obama.

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO FORCE SOMEONE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THEY DONT NEED?

Like, who do you think you are? Telling him to "man up."

Demon was fukking shot, SHOT, and still would've paid less than the $38k he elected not to pay in insurance.

All this shyt is a new tax, THAT'S IT. Wake up sheeple.
the same way you force me to pay for you when you get sick or have a bad accident.

like i said to the other poster. do you realize what would happen if something really bad happened to you without insurance? you do realize unless you're super rich you will run out of money. most people file BR due to medical bills. thats a known fact.

that means when you go broke, the rest of us will have to foot your bill(via taxes and higher premiums). I'm paying for you to have a CHOICE to say "i dont want it" like a little kid or something. i'm paying anyway. probably paying more in that way. thats why i'm all for you getting down with me right now, getting your check ups often. so you hopefully dont run into those issues. and if by chance you still get into a bad emergency situation. you wont go broke. and you're covered.

09'- 11' the Democrats controlled all 3 branches. Instead of focusing on the economy in those 2 years. They passed a half ass water down Healthcare bill. The Bill is basically forcing people to buy health insurance from the same highass insurance companies that people couldn't afford in the first place.:mindblown:

On top of this, the Obamacare system is built where young folks HAVE to buy in to support the old folks who are gonna be racking up all the medical bills :rudy:

its not just old. its sick folks vs non sick. obviously younger folks are less sick then old. but guess what... some of your SS payments you make with your payroll check goes to old people. but guess what. those old people kept the country rolling while me and you were in diapers. fair is fair. and one day you will be old and wrinkled.

Dog, I've had family members with low incomes get help from the gov and different programs. It isnt just "eat it" if some shyt happens and your uninsured. Plus, I can always go to a different country and get medical care.

Under 30, no kids, single person household. The best they could do was damn near $200 a month.

The tax is 1% of income up to $10k, roughly $100 a year. Then it goes to 2% next year if you decline, then 2.5%. I'd rather pay that tax and pay for my own medical than pay $2400 a year

Man I swear the only reason I have medical insurance is to cover my kids and wife. And with how shady these companies are, I got us all covered under both policies. I'm paying a fortune for shyt I don't even use :pacspit:

Hell on Earth
its not YOUR CHOICE to not care about yourself. read my post again.

if you were to get sick with cancer and i'm telling you that treatment is BEYOND expensive. i know, moms had it. and ton of other people i know had it.

if you cant pay for it. medicaid will kick in. GUESS WHO PAYS FOR MEDICAID mr selfish? ME and everyone else who pays taxes.

so while you're talking that Ron paul libertarian talk. just remember we pay taxes in this country and those taxes goes to things like healthcare for the poor/needy. so if you end up going Filing for BR cause of to high medical bills. i will be EATING it. not you. thats the selfish mentality thats the problem.

yall either dont understand that you already pay for people who choose not to have insurance. might as well divert those funds directly into the healthcare so everyone can get check ups. to catch stuff earlier. or keep people healthier so they wont have those high costs conditions to begin with. which = less out of all of our pockets in the long run. DO THE MATH.

while you are speaking some truth...nikka, your medicaid payment is gonna be the exact same out of every paycheck :dwillhuh:

the percentage of medicaid getting taken out of paychecks (which i support btw, because medicaid mostly benefits the elderly) isnt changing :heh: the nikka getting cancer treatment right now in 2014 hasnt affected the medicaid deduction from your paycheck thats been happening since you started working :heh:

Im not even fromting like i dont want healthcare...i just dont feel the need for it RIGHT NOW...the fact this woat president is forcing it on people is utter bullshyt

thats my point. if you go broke. you get govvy assistance. called MEDICAID. who pays for that? THE REST OF US. its unfair and actually less efficient way to use our money like that. waiting for the worse case scenario and over paying. when we could've all just gone in early and paid a little together. then when something happens we're all good. high or low income..wont matter.

right now if a broke person gets care. its coming out of my pocket. not theirs. is that fair? NO. but it happens in america cause we will not REFUSE anyone the right to emergency care. we're civilized like that. but its time to be smart about it. spend early now, spend less in the long run.

because it is not affordable

and not even decent coverage

and people who signed up are already being dropped

if i made 30k -aint no way in fukking hell would i pay $200 a month for health insurance
when i have only been to see a doctor 3 times in 5 years
and all 3 were for minor things

do u really think people can afford that shyt

of course it is good when you have kids and have to eat that cost regardless

but a single young person not making much
paying that much is fukking crazy

that is more than their car insurance
and they atleast drive their car daily

*but atleast it is the opportunity at coverage so not mad at it at all

the penalty is low so:ehh:

I'd be igged about being forced to have health insurance too if i didn't want it, but it's like every other form of insurance, you don't miss it until you don't have it. I look at my homeboy, he's like 32, healthy, exercises, vibrant, dude goes for a checkup and finds out he has stage 4 cancer - on that rare occasion when something like this pops up, yall really think you're gonna eat that bill? Um no, the rest of the taxpayers will.

And the prices yall are being charged aren't much different than what most employers offer, I have great rates (~80 month) right now at my job, but that's not the norm, my previous employer I was paying $220/month - I don't see the difference. Health care costs from providers are the issue.
