So how much credit are we giving Steve Kerr?

why would we have to wait for next year? :dwillhuh:

He took a ready made team and turn them into a champion....
if they're competing for championships in the future...that means he's truly a great coach.

If he's getting knocked in the first round....eh...

Its one of those time will tell type things

People had the Warriors finishing in the bottom half of the West playoff teams

He clearly elevated them, there's literally no need for a wait and see approach. If you said that about Blatt and his situation I'd understand

I look at him as a motivator/voice of reasoning instead of a coach. We will see next season.
Hmm him being resolute and sticking with a small lineup against the Grizz and Cavs was a tactical thing. How they defended Harden and LeBron was tactical. He also made small adjustments on the fly all throughout the playoffs.

Being a good motivator can only get you so far. Mark Jackson was a good motivator...

Coach Adams/Coach Gentry get the same amount of credit as I give coach Kerr because I have many valid reasons to believe without those 2 on the squad the appropriate adjustments wouldn't of been made let's not act like coaching is in a vacuum.
You don't have any valid reasons, this is the first scenario EVER where I'm seeing people prop up assistant coaches LOL

Kerr came in, made serious rotational adjustments, executed the exact offense he said he would when he got hired (so I don't understand where Gentry gets all this credit for the offense), all the while being a players coach who empowered his players

He just out coached Blatt something serious in the Finals too

Why can't you just say he's a great coach?

To be fair that was Luke Walton who suggested they start Iggy and stay with it..

Knew you were going to say this. You're right though. I can give him the credit.

He was fortunate. He could have taken the Knicks job and we wouldn't be thinking about him right now. The stars lined up for him. Let's see him do it again :ehh:

Great is too loosely used.

Bulls may have won the championship in 2011 if they didnt have to face LeBron and the Heat. Is Thibs a great coach in your opinion?

Healthy Cavs team beats them this year. The Spurs probably would have as well. The Clippers would have given them problems.

This was a very fortunate year for the Warriors. He's a champion though and thats all that matter. I'm not going to use great JUST YET.

Let him earn his stripes a few more years. Make it to a few WCF, even finals. Then yes he's a great coach.
