Moving from Philly to NY, I didnt think would be a big cultural difference, but goddamn :damn:
Im staying in Jamaica, Queens, but I want to live farther north soon, maybe Flushing or Elmhurst.

- NY'ers aint soft. I aint seen no violence, no fights, not even a gun, but I can tell niccas aint suckas.

- Nikkas think my Philly accent is "country" :mjcry:

- So many cultures and diversity. Seems like whenever I see a brother, and say "wassup", breh responds in a crazy ass accent, either Jamaican/ African/ French/ some shyt i dont comprehend...
I cant hold a convo with them Jamaican niccas, breh.

- That E train is a journey

- Shyt is segragated as hell. I aint seen no white people at all in Jamaica, only black and Spanish. Flushing seems to be all Asian. Jackson Heights is Middle Eastern. Corona/ Elmhurst is Latin. All the cacs is in Astoria and LIC (expensive as hell).

- The ladies :blessed:

- Seems like people not from Queens hate coming here. I told Brooklyn and Harlem people that I live in Queens and they do the :mjpls:

Welcome to the hood my G!

First off, you philly cats are weird. Half of y'all sound country and half of y'all don't. To this day I still can't narrow down why that is.

A lot of the communities are split like that. It wasn't always like that. A lot of the whites moved to CT, Jersey or out on the island. But each community still has a good mix. It's just not a complete 25:25:25:25 split.

Don't worry about not being able to translate them jamaicans man. I always needed one of my boys there for that shyt. Trini I can handle. Guyanese too. Once cats get into some real jamaican shyt I just tap out. Same shyt when I go to haitian functions and everyone starts speaking creole. Nope - I'm good!

And yeah we argue with them brooklyn nikkas all the time. But we know where they're moving to when it's time to raise a family :sas1:

Yep.... down south :skip: :shaq:

I grew up with Jamaicans so I can keep up with them for the most part

For a minute my baby sister had a Jamaican accent because her daycare was run by Jamaicans :dead:

I went to a handful of parties out in Queens and the thing I notice was that Jamaicans that owned houses used to fix up the basement like a bar and serve liquor and play music like it was a club.

Bruh that is all over Queens. Haitian, Jamaican, African whatever.

It's not a Brooklyn or Harlem thing cause you need an actual house for that :troll:

when i used to work in jackson heights that shyt was all central and south americans..shyt is turning middle eastern now :ohhh: u the second person that said that. i aint been there in years tho.

Yeah i got a job (reason I moved up here)

All the Manhattan people I meet keep tellin me East Harlem or Washington Heights is where its at, but then BK heads keep telling me Bed-Stuy and Flatbush is where its at... but I like Queens tho. I aint even been to Brooklyn yet since I got up here, but I used to stay there in the summer when i was little.

I got a car, and I like how easy it is to get around in Queens. Its suburban like, but I can get to Manhattan via train anytime.

breh they probably meant to say west harlem. only thing in east harlem is lots and lots of dope fiends and bloods. 125th and lexington is as close to 80s era NY as the city gets :whew:

You right but it's being taken over slowly but surely from what I hear. I grew up in corona / east elmhurst right across the street from Louis Armstrong school. The south American invasion is in full effect.

I heard they was trying to close St. Gabes :to: that was my middle school, I hope that didn't happen.

That lefrak building you saw with the big ass green sign ain't even the real lefrak. Lefrak city is a group of co-op buildings, you'll see that "live a little better " slogan somewhere by the entrance.
