prob shoulda put it in the booth but wanted to see if others had similar experiences with younger rap fans that thought they knew almost everything but literally knew almost nothing..or just generally the disconnect between generations being bigger than i had thought. for the most part, my knowledge base was pretty much in line with her parents (10 year difference) while she had almost no idea what all 3 of us were talkin about

when i was in HS a vast majority of my friends and i put time and effort in to learn about the history of the stuff. we liked to get a better understanding of how we're at the point we were at and gauge past and present in terms of style and skill (music/sports/etc)..i didnt expect much but i was shocked cuz she knew far less than i had initially thought

I agree. I'm almost 30 and there's a big difference between the stuff we heard and the younger generation these days. And I made an effort to check out and listen to old school acts like rakim, bdk, and krs that were before my time.

I made an ep in my room, 6 hard tracks over the canibUS beat. Six tracks, one lousy beat. People don't hold it against me.
