Also this is not the late 1800's or early 1900's people who look like that are not as numerous as they once were outside of the gulf coast. Hell I have great great grandparents who were quadroons but has changed since them.

Way back I'd have definitely hit them with the followed by the "fukk do you mean you're black?"
In fact I did once and this mixed girl (prolly 30% mixed) just went on talking about how she identified as black and all that. I honestly wasn't comfortable in that discussion fam. 'Cause I could tell she was mixed, but she wasn't having any of my "but you're not fully black" counter-arguments.
So I just let it go because she was Afram and I am not, and I was in her turf essentially. So I just figured if the opposite were happening and she was telling me I wasn't really Angolan in Angola I'd just look at her like she's crazy for even saying it.
