She's black/mixed. She can write & sing well and I like some of her music.

LOL @ the guy who said she's not on tinashe's level (I'll @ you when I find the post again). She can sing better and has better songs than Tinashe. The only reason why she isn't as well known is because Tinashe has lots of promotion, lots. That girl is heavily promoted, she has a good team. If Tinashe was making better songs, she'd be big rightnow with all of the promotion she gets..

'nikkaS' really appealed to you, eh? :jbhmm:

On another note having a sliver of African Ancestry should not automatically make you black. Her phenotypes look more white/whatever else she listed, than black.

^This

Just curious to the people who are calling her black....

If this was the new girl at work would you say to yourself "Oh look at the black new hire" ?
Or if someone wanted you to describe her would you say "She's the black girl"

She may have a tiny bit of black in her, but if people look at her and do not treat her as black, then what does she know about being black??

fat joe berm saying nikka for 20 years and yaw ain't said shyt.:camby:

where's the consistency?

Just speaking for myself, I always had an issue wtih that. And i've never ever seen Fat Joe as a black man.

So.
Do you consider tinashe not black as well? & any other biracial/mixed person who looks like them?

It was an accidental quote. I'm new here, still learning how stuff works :D

But are you really comparing Tinashe to this girl? Do you not the see the failure in the comparison?

If you don't look black, and no one views you as black (by her own admission), and no one treats you as black, what exactly do you know about being black?

Who do you think girls are going to emulate...not Brittany Spears or Gwen Stefani..,Aaliyah is to them girls what Tupac is to a lot of aspiring rappers...plus she seems mighty ETHNIC to me:shaq:

They are the same color with and without a tan.& they both have curly hair. K has fuller lips and a rounder nose. They both look like they're mixed with black to me.

This.....

I don't get it.... People pick and choose who they define as black.

And people having a problem with her saying nikka.... What about Drake????

People gon learn black comes in all shades and features.

Yeah... you know what. On second thought, if I saw her walking down the street.... no, I would not think she was black.

I stand corrected. Tinashe does not look black to me. Thanks for the visual aids.
