No there were people saying best. Some of the same people were also anticipating having to pay him more than the minimum because of how he was playing if he decided to opt out. I remember people talking about letting Murray run the second unit too because they would get off to way better starts with Russ and weren't having to play catch up all the time to barely scrape out wins.

One of their biggest salaries and best floor spacers barely plays. Even when he's healthy they were still saying not enough shooting let alone when he's out.

3) averages a triple double for a TRASH ASS Wizards team that hasn't come close to making playoffs since.

4) Bron and AD barely play this season. Russ forced to be shooter whenever Bron is on court because Bron Ball. Still averages 17, 7, and 7 as 3rd option

5) kawhi AND Paul George hurt in playoffs. Leads to Westbrook vs KD and Booker still puts up a good fight and everyone begins to look at Westbrook favorably

6) Westbrook moved to bench for Harden, Kawhi hurt in playoffs AGAIN, PG shyts the bed, but everybody wanna blame Westbrook off the bench
