I didn't buy 2k13... I had 2k12 & ended up getting 2k14 this year & there's EXTREMELY slight differences so I can only imagine it's not that far from 2k13. I've heard people complain about the controls but I think you can change them to 2k13's...

They fixed some things from 2k12 I noticed though especially on Defense... the game is solid to me...

I had it for 360 and now x1. The two gens play different, but 2k13 to 2k14 on previous gen is also different. Anybody saying otherwise must not be a fan like that. The cpu defense has been tuned up quite a bit, the contact is much more realistic, you can block dunks again, finally...it's worth the jump. I liked the 360/ps3 version better than x1 though
