Last night I was out watching the game, as soon as it was over I went to the bar to pay out my tab. I walk up there and waiting on the bar tender, I glance to the right of me and there's a dude sitting by himself with an orange stocking cap and jean jacket on looking plain as hell. I did a triple take and realized it was Andre.
Now I've met a few "famous" people, but that shyt doesn't really impress me and never been on the groupie shyt. Hell I shot pool w/ Owen Wilson one time and acted like I had no idea who he was, which I think he appreciated, but I digress...
Anyway, Andre was a huge musical influence on me since I was 16 years old and gave me so much great music that I had to say something. So I stepped to him with a quiet voice as to not draw attention, and said "excuse me sir, don't mean to bother you but are you 3k?" He looked up from his phone and looked me dead in the eye and said "yeah man thats me". I shook his hand and introduced myself and told him I loved Outkast and had been listening to them for almost 20 years. He smiled and he said "thanks man, I really appreciate that".
It's funny, cuz my girl was like, who is he chopping it up with now (I'm known to make friends in low places, and she thought he was bummy lol).
We talked for a minute but I didn't want to bother him so I kept it moving, no pics or nothing cuz I'm not with that groupie shyt. But during our convo, he came across very genuine and sincere, and also humble. I share this story because a lot of threads on the coli kinda shyt on Andre cuz he doesn't do new Kast album, wish he would tour more etc. He seemed like a real ass dude and had a very positive aura about him.
