Don't own one that's too old, that's all I can say. If you go S4 and get a B5 model, the turbos will surely go bad at some point, fixing to the tune of $5,000 and higher. If you get a B6 w/ the V8, you're going to have carbon buildup issues in the cylinder heads and more issues w/ the timing chains, that's more rape as that's upwards of $8,000 to fix that.

So at the end of the day, have a warranty.
